Photography workshops are a great way to advance your photography and just set some time aside to get out into nature with your camera and have some fun! One of the biggest benefits of joining a workshop is you get hands on help from a professional but you also get time out doing what you love with like minded people – and what better than to join one of my workshops in Arches National Park or Aspen?

This spring I led  an incredible workshop in Aspen, right in my own backyard in Colorado. But this fall I am headed to the breathtaking desert of Utah for my next EOS Destination Workshop. Moab is the perfect base camp for excursions to the infamous Arches National Park.  The park boasts breathtaking landscapes, eons of environmental activity yielding spectacular sandstone sculptures and awe-inspiring arches. Over the course of this 3-day workshop, we will explore both the natural beauty of the terrain as well as the interplay with modern human activity.

Utah and Arches National Park, specifically, offer stunning landscapes and we will shoot both day and nightscapes to capture the most dramatic light. And at night the Milky Way adds an unreal element to the scenery, so we focus on long exposures and star trails as well as light painting arches to bring the images into amazing detail.

But its not just about the scenery, we will also shoot with rock climbers to get action shots and environmental portraits. And for one of my favorite shoots of the workshop, we will capture cowboys, cowgirls and galloping horses at the Red Cliffs Lodge corral.

An important tip I share in this workshop is lens selection and composition to enhance the emotional impact of an image. And thanks to Canon, you get to experiment with some of the best Canon gear, including L-Series lenses, and Canon EOS-1D X, EOS-1DX Mark II, EOS 80D, EOS 5DS bodies. I also share what bodies and lenses I use most and how I use them, its a great chance to see “whats in the bag” on professional shoots.

These workshops have sold out in previous years so don’t miss your opportunity, spaces are already filling up! Click here to register for the Moab Workshop.
