It’s that time of the year again already! I’ll be speaking at PDN’s Photo Plus Expo in New York on Friday, October 25 from 1:30-3:30pm. Sponsored by Canon, this year my talk is Mastering Video: Storytelling Essentials For Cinematography. At its heart, great cinematography is all about creating emotion. In this fast-paced seminar, I’ll reveal the essential elements of shooting compelling short films, commercials and social media videos. Light, framing, camera motions, storyline and interview techniques are critical components for building a story. I’ll be using detailed examples from some of our award-winning films and commercials to show how to use these techniques to truly connect with your audience. This seminar is designed for shooters of all levels including those making the transition from stills to video.
