I am excited to debut the 7-minute documentary “Land of Hardship, People of Hope” on my Multimedia page. I shot my week-long Ethiopia multimedia video revealing Ethiopia’s orphan crisis and the work that an amazing nonprofit agency is doing to revitalize some of the hardest-hit communities.
Ethiopia faces a poverty and healthcare crisis that has orphaned over 5 million children; Wide Horizons is bringing life-changing projects to people in some of the poorest communities. This program’s work includes the provision of full-time education for children who normally have no access to schooling. They also work with schools to provide meals for children during the school day, and give grants to families to invest into their farm or business.
The final product takes a look into the families of Ethiopia and the conditions they live in. Not only that, but we worked with Wide Horizons to show just how much they are truly helping the people of this struggling country. The Ethiopia multimedia video, captured with Canon EOS 5D Mark II video and stills cameras, combines HD video, stills and sound, as well as beautiful Ethiopian music. I had the honor of working with the kind people at the award-winning Crispin Porter + Bogusky ad agency, who edited and produced the video pro bono.
I am also selling select images from my travels in Ethiopia to raise money for Wide Horizons for Children’s Ethiopian humanitarian-aid program. 100 percent of proceeds from the sale of these prints will go to this outstanding nonprofit agency.
