I will be giving a Canon Explorers of Light presentation and live photography workshop at Unique Photo in Fairfield, New Jersey on November 22. Working with a sports model, I will demonstrate a real-world portraiture assignment using the new Canon EOS 7D and Canon 580EX II Speedlites. At the PhotoPlus Expo in NYC last week I had the honor of speaking on behalf of Adobe to help announce the new beta release of Photoshop Lightroom 3. The talk garnered the attention of the New York Times, which has posted a writeup here.
I also spoke on behalf of Canon at their expo stage, showing a range of my adventure and philanthropic photography. I was honored to have Photoshop guru Scott Kelby in the audience, and he listed my talk as one of the show highlights, under “Awesome Demos” here.
On another note, the Canon enthusiast website LensFlare35 just posted an online interview with me, where I discuss my favorite 10 images, among other things. The link is here.
I have also put together an outline for my Lightroom Workflow with some simple guidelines that I use for importing, editing, processing and exporting my images in Lightroom. I will post more detailed articles focusing on specific sections of Lightroom in the future.

Many people have asked me which settings I use for white balance, color space, video mode and custom functions, etc. Here is a list of the settings that I ‘customize’ on my Canon EOS 5D Mark II — they are simply settings that I find helpful and are in no way the absolute-best way. I hope that you find them useful!
